It has been a hot few weeks in London and I’m loving an icy cold smoothie more than ever – it’s the perfect way to make the most of all the delicious summer fruit, cool down, and spend minimum time indoors as they are so quick to whizz up. The fact that there are endless flavor combinations makes it even more fun and don’t even get me started on toppings…!
If you follow me on Instagram you will already know I have a growing obsession with smoothie bowls, and I think this mango matcha one has to be my favourite yet. The frozen banana is key to keep it creamy and cold, mango is deliciously sweet and gives it a tropical taste, and I love a handful of spinach to get some greens in, but the matcha is my fave ingredient here – it’s a mega antioxidant rich powder made from green tea leaves that is said to aid brain function, boost metabolism, detoxify the body, and stave off hunger (and hangovers!) amongst many other great health benefits. If you like green tea and haven’t tried it then definitely grab a matcha latte next time your out and about, it is an absolute game changer!
1 frozen banana
Handful of spinach
1/2 teaspoon matcha powder
1 teaspoon chia
1 teaspoon cashew butter
1 cup brown rice milk
Toppings of your choice - I used:
Handful of granola
Simply blend all the ingredients until they are totally smooth then pour into a bowl and top with all your favourite bits!
